About the Library
Central library at Gates Institute of Technology embraces the vision and mission of the Institute by providing maximum access to relevant, authoritative, and scholarly resources to all its members which include students, teaching and non-teaching staff. Central Library is a spacious and well ventilated facility. Along with the central library there are independent departmental libraries which support research and teaching.
To cater to the needs of Students and the Faculty, the Central Library is equipped with about 44,067 volumes and about 2626 Titles covering the core subjects as well as general subjects. The library is subscribing to e-journals, and National, International Journals and Magazines. All the books in the library are bar-coded and barcode laser scanners are used in the circulation counter.

Reference Section & Reading Hall
A copy of each prescribed text book, recommended books, Journals, Magazines, Back Volumes of the Journals, Project Reports, Previous Question papers are made available in the reference section. Students can refer to these materials in the reading hall. The reading hall can accommodate 200 students at once.
Digital Library
Digital Library has 15 systems with Internet connectivity to access various National and International Journals & e-journals. The following materials can be accessed in the Digital Library.
NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning resources ) Video Lectures delivered by eminent professors from different IIT's in the areas of CSE, CE, ME, EEE, ECE, Basic science and Humanities can be accessed here.
CD’s of Textbooks, Personality Development materials and materials provided by AIMA (All India Management association) and many more are available in the digital library.
Photocopying and Printing
The Libraries have black/white and color copying and printing equipment available. There is a charge for these services.
